Overview
The Lemosho Route is considered one of the most scenic and least traveled routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. It offers a longer ascent which allows for more time for acclimatization and higher success rates.
Itinerary
Day 1 :
Day 1
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
You will arrive in Tanzania and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2 :
Day 2
Day 2: Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa
After breakfast, you will drive to the Lemosho Gate and start your trek through the lush rainforest to Mti Mkubwa, where you will set up camp for the night
Day 3 :
Day 3
Day 3: Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1
Today you will continue through the rainforest and climb up to the Shira Plateau, where you will have stunning views of the mountain. You will set up camp at Shira 1
Day 4 :
Day 4
Day 4: Shira 1 to Shira 2
You will continue your ascent through the rocky terrain of the Shira Plateau and cross several streams before reaching Shira 2, where you will spend the night.
Day 5 :
Day 5
Day 5: Shira 2 to Barranco
Today you will climb up to Lava Tower, which is at an altitude of 4,640 meters, before descending to Barranco Camp, where you will spend the night
Day 6 :
Day 6
Day 6: Barranco to Karanga
Today you will climb up the Barranco Wall and trek through the Karanga Valley to Karanga Camp, where you will spend the night
Day 7 :
Day 7
Day 7: Karanga to Barafu
Today you will climb up to Barafu Camp, where you will prepare for your summit attempt.
Day 8 :
Day 8
Day 8: Barafu to Uhuru Peak to Mweka
You will wake up early and start your ascent to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Uhuru Peak, which is the highest point in Africa. After reaching the summit, you will descend to Mweka Camp for the night
Day 9 :
Day 9
Day 9: Mweka to Mweka Gate to Arusha
Today you will descend to the Mweka Gate and transfer back to your hotel in Arusha for a well-deserved rest.
Day 10 :

You will transfer to the airport for your departure flight
