Overview
The Umbwe Route is one of the shortest and steepest routes to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, making it a challenging but rewarding climb. This route offers stunning views of the mountain and surrounding landscapes, including the Barranco Wall, Western Breach, and the Southern Icefields. The Umbwe Route is recommended for experienced climbers who are physically fit and acclimatized to high altitudes.

Day 1 :

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Arrive in Tanzania and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay
Day 2 :
Day 2
Day 2: Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Camp After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Umbwe Gate where you will start your climb. The trail is steep and narrow, passing through dense forest before reaching the Umbwe Camp at an altitude of 2,943 meters. Overnight stay at the camp
Day 3 :

Day 3: Umbwe Camp to Barranco Camp
After breakfast, you will start climbing towards Barranco Camp, passing through moorlands and rocky terrain. You will also climb the Barranco Wall, a challenging section of the climb that requires some scrambling. Overnight stay at Barranco Camp at an altitude of 3,976 meters.
Day 4 :

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Today's climb takes you to Karanga Camp, passing through the Karanga Valley and traversing the Southern Icefields. Overnight stay at Karanga Camp at an altitude of 3,995 meters.
Day 5 :

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Today's climb takes you to Barafu Camp, passing through alpine desert terrain. Barafu Camp is the base camp for the summit attempt. Overnight stay at Barafu Camp at an altitude of 4,673 meters.
Day 6 :

Day 6: Summit Attempt and Descent to Mweka Camp
Start the summit attempt around midnight, climbing through scree and snow to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro at an altitude of 5,895 meters. After reaching the summit, you will descend to Mweka Camp, passing through Barafu Camp and the alpine desert. Overnight stay at Mweka Camp at an altitude of 3,068 meters

Day 7: Descend to Mweka Gate and Departure
Today's descent takes you through dense forest, passing through Mweka Gate, where you will receive your certificate of completion. Transfer to your hotel for a day room to freshen up and relax before your departure flight.
